The Perfect Dog is in URGENT search of volunteers!
In order to achieve our goal of rescuing dogs from kill shelters, we need the community’s support!

Foster Program

As we have no facility or sanctuary yet, we rely heavily on the community’s support to save lives. The more people who open their homes, hearts, and time to provide a dog with love and shelter, the more we can save. The Perfect Dog foster program is an excellent way to help animals in need, but it can come with challenges, as with anyone bringing a new dog into the household. Some dogs may need work on basic training and socialization, and it may take anywhere from a couple days to a few months to get a dog adopted.

If you feel ready to open your home to a dog in need, please take the time to fill out the Foster Application form.

Please note: We can only successfully work with foster homes within the immediate bay area, as our vet is in Fremont and we hold adoption fairs in San Jose, so you have to be willing to transport the dog to those locations when necessary.

Wish List

We are always in need of the following supplies:
- blankets
- towels
- paper towels
- cleaning supplies (nature’s miracle, lysol, resolve, etc)
- crates (both travel plastic kind and the foldable metal kind)
- in clean, decent condition: collars, martingale collars for medium-large dogs, harnesses (both standard for small and easy-walk for medium or large), leashes, t-shirts, and sweaters
- donations (to help cover vet bills)

You may drop off any donated goods at our Saturday adoption fairs at Petco Unleashed (2007 Camden Ave, San Jose) from 12-4pm, or email theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com to arrange a time and place for pickup.
