Lobo

Lobo is a Stunning 2 yo. German Shepherd/ Border Collie mix. Like German shepherds he sheds and needs to be groomed regularly. At first he can be very shy and reserved, but once you earn his trust he is a truly loving companion! He is one of the most loyal dogs you’ll ever meet. He is an amazing, gentle, and a calm dog. He gets along with Dogs, cats and pretty much every one! And it seems every one gets along with him! He has a calming effect on other animals. He is house trained and knows sit and down. He would be happiest in a home with another dog he can play with, and a understanding owner who can devote a lot of time to him. He is a very devoted dog and deserves an equally devoted owner. He gets depressed whenever his one special person leaves any where without him. This is a dog that must go with you when you go on vacation, because he will not eat when you are gone. He would make an awesome hiking partner. So find campsites that have fun, dog friendly trails. He is full of love, devotion, and will make a very loyal companion to any lucky person!

Kirby

Kirby is a 1yo Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix who only weighs 10lbs (he looks like a miniature duck tolling retriever!). He’s great with other dogs of all sizes and is a very friendly and happy little guy. He’s easygoing and playful. Just a great, sweet little guy!

Pepper

Pepper is an incredibly loving 2yo dachshund/pomeranian mix who weighs about 15lbs. She’s a very quiet, gentle girl, who just wants to follow her person around. She’s good with other dogs but is a little intimidated by large dogs. Her favorite thing is to curl up on someone’s lap. She will make an incredibly loyal, velcro dog who will follow you around everywhere.

Hazel

Hazel is a 4 yo Yorkie/Maltese mix. This little cutie is 13 pounds of pure love and affection. She wants to be by your side, in your arms, or on your lap 24/7. She gets along with dogs, cats, and seems to be housebroken. She is going to make some lucky family a wonderful companion!

Sydney

Sydney is a 3yo purebred Chihuahua that looks like a super miniature Australian Cattle Dog! She is itty bitty and weighs only 5lbs, but is full of love! She’s great with other dogs, although not too fond of large dogs, would do better with smaller dogs. She’s crate-trained and housebroken. She loves cuddling and sleeping under the covers. She gave birth to a couple pups while in the shelter but the pups didn’t survive. She looks and acts like a puppy herself! She is very quiet, rarely barks, and is great little girl who wants nothing more than cuddle-time and follow you around!

Stryder

Stryder is a 1-2yo 50lb incredible and gorgeous Border/Aussie rescued from a rural shelter. He came to us VERY flea infested, and his white fur was all yellow and so dirty. His foster gave him a really good long deep flea bath (took like an hour!) and he did so wonderfully! He actually fell asleep in the shower. He mellows out really well, but he loves to play with other dogs and toys, he has the perfect energy level! Would be great on walks and hikes. Already knows sit, is crate-trained, housebroken, and does great in the car. He slept loose in his foster’s room and curled up on a dog bed next to the foster’s bed (after cuddling with her). He’s a very friendly boy and easygoing, wants to be friends with and gets along well with everyone he meets. Haven’t seen any aggression from him whatsoever, not toward other dogs or with people, his foster even took a bone away from him and he played tug-o-war with two other dogs at the same time! He is interested in but non-aggressive toward cats. He did want to chase some ground squirrels at the park (what dog doesn’t though?). He will need boundary and obedience training but he is SO smart and is willing to please. He will be an incredibly awesome and lovely dog for a lucky someone!

Charlotte

Charlotte is one fantastic little dog. She’s a three year old dachsund mix and only weighs 12 lbs. She gets an A+ in all the important stuff: great with cats, kids and other dogs; housebroken and crate-friendly. When she needs to go outside, she will sit by the door and whine. Charlotte loves squeaky toys and can be very playful, but she’s generally a calm, well-balanced dog. She has a very sweet nature and showers her favorite humans with affection. She is treat-motivated and knows a couple of tricks already. She loves hikes and walks and can go about three miles without slowing down too much. She likes a good cuddle and she loves to sleep under the covers. If she had her way, Charlotte would be with her favorite person 24 hours a day, so if you’re looking for a cute and happy constant companion, she’s just for you!

Katie – ADOPTION PENDING!

Katie is a 3-4 yo. Australian cattle dog mix. Katie is a very sweet and super cuddly. She is very people-oriented so should not be left alone in the yard. She needs continued basic training, however she is learning sit, leash manners, house and crate training very quickly (Smart Girl!). She is an active dog, but settles down nicely. She seems to be a little afraid of larger dogs, but may warm up to them. She seems to get along with cats, but is a little fearful of them. She is very smart and active, and would make a wonderful companion to take on jogs, hikes, etc. She would make a very loving and loyal companion for a lucky person.

Axel

Axel is a 1yo very sweet, sensitive, and eager to please Plott Hound! He will need continued basic training, however he is learning sit, leash manners, house and crate training and doing well so far, and is enjoying life as a companion dog. He was rescued from a rural shelter and came to us severely inexperienced with life and very undersocialized. As a result, he must go to an Adult Only home that will be willing to teach him new things and keep him safe and commit to working on his issues – how undersocialized he is plus his protective nature. He’s great in the car and is a very sweet guy who loves every dog he’s met so far. He is interested in cats, but doesn’t seem to dislike them. He is extremely loving and would make a great hiking or jogging partner (once he’s comfortable with the environment and on leash).

Lily

Lily is a wonderful 2yo lab/cattledog/pit mix who was in the San Martin shelter, got adopted, and a few months later ended up on death row at the San Jose shelter. This great girl needs a loving FOREVER home!!
Lily acts like a silly puppy sometimes. She is very smart and curious, and with additional training, she will blossom into a wonderful companion. Lily follows her people around and is very affectionate and cuddly. Her favorite thing in the world is belly rubs! Does well with other dogs once properly introduced. She has spurts of energy where she will play hard, then settle nicely at your feet. She generally walks well on leash, though she has been known to stop in the middle of the walk to solicit belly rubs before continuing. She’d make a wonderful family pet!

Marbles – ADOPTION PENDING!

Marbles is a 3yo Catahoula/Chihuahua mix who weighs about 20lbs. She may be a little shy at first but once she warms up she has a very sweet, goofy personality. She’s great with other dogs and may do fine with cats. She’s crate-trained and housebroken as long as you stick to a routine. She likes to climb piles of stuff and watch her surroundings from above, kind of like a mountain goat, and will help shred papers for you. She’s just a very sweet, gentle, quiet girl, who is looking for her loving forever home!

Zoey

Zoey is a sweet and goofy 2yo miniature poodle who is happiest when she’s by your side. She is a little bashful in new situations so she likes a quiet household and a steady routine. She gets along with other dogs, but would also be fine as an only dog with someone home during the day. Zoey has a fused vertebrae in her back, causing her to be a bit clumsy when she gets excited. It does not take away from her everyday life..She loves her daily walks, tossing her squeaky toys in the air, and playing with the other dogs in her foster home. She’s just a sweet little girl, grateful for a second chance with a loving forever home.

Ginger

Ginger is a 1-2 yr old female “pocket pibble” weighing only about 35 pounds. She is small for her breed and the vet says she is full grown. She came from an abusive and neglectful background but is as gentle and loving as if nothing bad had ever happened to her. She walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands. She is fully housebroken once on a routine and is crate-trained. She has shown no people or cat aggression but occasionally shows food/fear aggression towards other dogs (these incidents are getting fewer and farther between the longer she is in foster care). Ginger loves nothing more that cuddling and being near her person. However, it is important to note that she is still very much in the puppy stage. She can be very mouthy when she gets excited (chewing on your pant leg, wrist, or whatever she can get a hold of) and jumping all over you until she realizes it won’t get her anywhere. She will occasionally chew on inappropriate objects if left within her reach. An active home with older or no children would be best. She loves to play with toys and other dogs (some times too much for a quieter or older dog), and she is quickly picking up the game of fetch. It is also important to note that she can jump fences like a pro and can be an escape artist if left in the yard or with any opening that she can get out of. She is extremely street smart and, once she is in the wind, can be very difficult to find. She will be beginning training classes the first week in january and since she seems to be very intelligent should have no problems becoming the perfect dog. Ginger is a wonderful little girl that wants nothing more to please her person and be loved in return.

Star – ADOPTION PENDING!

Star is a 1yo 40lb cattledog/shepherd mix. She’s WONDERFUL with people, very sweet, cuddly, and gentle. She’s would do best in a house hold without cats. She is wonderful with other dogs and would make a fun playmate for any family with another dog. She is house trained and knows the commands Sit, Down, and Stay. She’s playful and energetic, but knows when it’s time to settle down. Being a herding dog mix, she’s super smart, corrects really well, wants to please, and learns fast! She needs physical and mental exercise, so not for first time dog owner. She’d be the perfect dog for someone looking for an active companion, someone to go jogging or hiking with.

Malcolm

Malcolm is a 9-10mo Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix rescued from the central valley. He is incredibly sweet, loving, and social. Loooves people, is great with other dogs, could care less about cats. He sleeps quietly in his crate. He will need some basic training, but he’s smart and very food motivated. He would be a wonderful Agility dog, he’s super fast, agile, and bright!

Roger

Roger is a 1 year old Australian Terrier, and this guy is ALL terrier!! (His personality is probably closest to that of a Jack Russell) He loves to play with other small dogs, is good with cats (although sometimes he wants to play with them if they run). He LOVES to play (can’t say this enough), and he has extremely high energy. He has begun Agility classes and would love to go to a home that can continue this with him, and keep him very active, both mentally and physically (this is so important for a dog like Roger). He’s like the energizer bunny, and he is one of the smartest dogs we have met! He does also love to snuggle with his person and give kisses. He’s crate-trained and housebroken. His only issue (besides his extremely high energy level) is fear aggression toward strangers (will bite if a stranger reaches their hands for/toward him), but with lots of patience, training, and proper socialization, especially since he’s still young, this fear should eventually go away (we hope, but it may also never quite go away). He does seem to warm up much faster to young women than to older people or men. This is why he’d do best in a home with NO children and with someone experienced with terrier or high energy breeds (like herding dogs). Once you give this dog a chance, you will fall in love! He’s really such a cool dog, the life of the party!
Roger is neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped, and will come with a collar, harness, leash, and bag of food!

Cindi – ADOPTION PENDING!

Cindi is a 2yo Chiweenie who had been in the shelter and overlooked for 4 months! She’s very sweet and outgoing. She’s good with other dogs (although a little intimidated by large dogs) and ignores cats, but prefers not to have to share, so would do well by herself too. She’d be a great dog for a family with kids as she’s very gentle and loving. She’s housebroken and does well left alone, she’s mellow and want nothing more than a lap to curl up on. She loves to go for walks and is great in the car. Just a great, very loyal little girl who needs a loving person to give her a chance!
Cindi’s foster home writes:
“Cindi likes to sleep on her dog bed at night (or cuddle under the covers with you!).
She takes some time to warm up to people but once she is used to you she wants to always be with you or as I say she is a Velcro dog.
She ignores the guinea pigs and is gentle when I am holding them.
She is learning to be in the crate for a couple of hours and is always very excited to see me she often greets me with a wagging tail.
I take her on my daily walks with my other clients and she is getting more comfortable and confident around new dogs she hasnt met.
Cindi is a fairly quiet dog who likes to sleep and be mellow most of the day.”

Lady Jane

Lady Jane is an 8yo Chihuahua/terrier mix rescued from the San Jose shelter just in the nick of time! She had been turned into the shelter with two other dogs after their owner passed away, but the other two got adopted and miss Lady Jane sat in the shelter overlooked, waiting, hoping for someone to save her. She gets along well with other smaller dogs but can get intimidated by larger dogs. She ignores cats and she’s friendly with all people. After we rescued her we noticed her front toes are very slightly deformed but this doesn’t affect how she walks at all. She’s got a great spirit and energy for her age, you wouldn’t guess it!

Skylar

** Due to an overwhelming response for Skylar, only homes experienced with herding breed dogs and that can provide him with a job (agility, flyball, rally, etc) will be considered. He is NOT a simple family dog, he’s a border collie that has amazing brain power that needs to be put to good use! **
Skylar is a 1.5 yo. medium haired Border Collie. He is extremely intelligent and gentle! He is loving, caring, and happy to please. When he was rescued from the Hollister Shelter he already knew the commands sit and down. He also seems to have been well socialized, and has no signs of separation anxiety. He is a high energy dog and loves to play ball endlessly! He is house trained and does fine in the crate or kennel. He is great with all dogs, but shouldn’t be in a house with cats. He would do very well doing nearly any job meant for a dog. He would be amazing in agility competitions. He has the talents needed to be a wonderful herding dog, and/or a search and rescue dog. He needs a owner who can keep up with him. And who can keep his mind and body stimulated! If you want an active dog that you can bring on hikes, jogs, Etc. Then look no further! Skylar is a one of a kind and amazing dog
A few words From Skylar..
Did you know when my Foster parents first got me I wasn’t one bit house trained. But you know what I’m so smart that it took me less then 3 days to be fully house trained. My foster family were very pleased with me.
And did you know, that a couple of days after they welcomed me in their home I saw that one of them accidentally left the front door open! I of course went out and started exploring. I was gone for a few minutes and I had gone a fair distance from their house. I was having a blast! Then one of my foster parents started yelling my name! She couldn’t see me because I was so far away! She sounded so worried, so you know what I did? I ran to her at full speed.. I ran right to her, but did you know ,I tried to slow down when I was a couple of feet away. And yet I was running so fast that I couldn’t stop! I ran right into her! And did you know she praised me and gave me treats! She was so silly she carried me in the house and wouldn’t stop hugging me.
And You know what? I think they are profoundly proud of me!
Ducky – ADOPTED!

Ducky is a 4yo Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (but who really knows as he was a shelter pup, but sure looks like one and acts like one!!). He’s 23lbs so on the smaller side for the breed. He’s great with other dogs, but would do best in a home without cats. He doesn’t bark much (unless he needs to), is crate-trained, and housebroken once he’s on a stable routine. This boy is SO ball driven, and will play fetch for hours! He’d be a great family dog as he is very loving, but only if someone will give him a job to do and try some dog sports with him. He’s a smart guy and loves to work (and play ball!), would hate for that to be wasted. But after some game time, he will settle down well indoors as well. He’s such a great dog! Someone will be very lucky to have him.

Fella – ADOPTED!

Fella is a 1yo cockapoorgi! (our best guess, cocker spaniel/poodle/corgi). He is great with other dogs and kids. He is housebroken, but has a silly quirk of chewing on clothes (doesn’t care about toys!). He does well on a leash when taken for walks. Very quiet and doesn’t bark. He’s a very cuddly, outgoing boy who would love a family of his own!

Noelle – ADOPTED!

Noelle is a 2 year old 11 lb Havanese mix. She was brought to a shelter after getting hit by a car and her owners never claimed her. She suffered only bumps and bruises, and with a little bed rest is up and running again. Although her skin and fur were in bad shape (with treatment it’s healing nicely) this little girl must have been loved. She is the happiest dog, her tail is always wagging and she freely gives kisses to anyone who wants them. She would love to have a home where someone is home most of the time and/or another small dog to have as a pal. She does alright in her crate for short periods and prefers to sleep with her humans at night. She loves going for walks, squeaky toys, and best of all, a warm lap to nap in. She is fully housebroken (no accidents in the house) and has her one and only special spot for potty outside. She is a sweet and loving girl who deserves a wonderful forever home.

Lana – ADOPTED!

Lana is a 25-30lb 3yo border collie/spaniel mix who came to us from the shelter extremely stressed and terrified. We suspect she had been a stray for a long time. Each day she becomes more confident in her foster home and is slowly getting acclimated to being a beloved pet once again. She so very badly wants to bond with her person, and wants nothing more than that. In the right home, she will become the most loyal, loving dog you have ever met. She’s completely housebroken and very quiet. She’s a bit undersocialized with other dogs so may do best as an only dog, and due to her timid nature, best in a quiet household, preferably with a single woman. Give this girl a chance and you will have the most loyal companion of your lifetime.

Bear – ADOPTED!

Bear is a sweet and gentle 6-7yo Australian Shepherd. He is a calm and loving dog. He isn’t vocal except when he’s a bit excited and wants to play and even then it’s a quiet little bark. He needs basic training but seems to be house trained. He does fine with cats, but he can be picky about his doggy friends (mostly with unneutered males) and should eat separately from other dogs. He does have a thyroid issue but it’s very easily managed with inexpensive medication and should live a normal life. He is highly intelligent so isn’t for the first time dog owner, but he will make an absolutely wonderful companion who wants a more laid-back dog.
