Tessa is a precious 1 year old 7 pound Chihuahua/Greyhound mix. This gentle, sensitive, and loving little girl is going to melt your heart. She is shy but playful, and enjoys playing with both the dogs and cats in her foster home. She has a special friendship with Dante, a 16 pound black cat, and it’s just so sweet to watch the two of them play and cuddle together! She also LOVES the security of being held and cuddled in someone’s loving arms. Tessa has some problems with her balance which may be caused by some kind of trauma she experienced. She gets around just fine, and has her own special “Tessa Walk”, which is actually VERY cute! She is house broken once on a regular schedule, and sleeps quietly in her crate at bedtime. Tessa would love to find a quiet, patient, and extra loving home that will continue to show her the world isn’t always a scary place and can be so much fun after all! Blueberry is a 2yo blue merle Chihuahua mix. He is a sensitive and timid boy, but good with other dogs and very quiet. Blueberry is a special chihuahua just look at those gorgeous eyes! He can be shy at first but warms up once He knows you. He does little dances for treats or when going for a walk. He loves a warm comfy bed with blankets because he likes to burrow. Blueberry is potty trained and crate trained.
He likes to play fetch and is really a low maintenance dog. He walks we’ll on leash and likes being held and petted. He doesn’t mind the crate at all, he often goes in on his own to relax on the cozy bed. He is good about grooming like being brushed or trimming nails. Blueberry would do best with dogs his own size, he is good friends with Shakira also available for adoption

Shakira is a 4-5 year old female Chihuahua mix. She is house and crate trained. She gets along with other small dogs, with big dogs she might take a little while to warm up. She’d probably be fine with cats. She loves going on walks, she is great on leash and does not pull. She travels in a crate in the car quietly. She is a quiet, mellow, and independent little girl but she does let you know when someone is at the door, although her bark kind of sounds muffled. Her favorite thing is to lay under the sun. She is not very comfortable with men approaching her, but she will warm up to the man of the house with patience, treats, and a happy voice. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Shakira will be rewarded with lifelong love and loyalty from this special girl!

Clover is a 1.5yo purebred Rottweiler, weighing at 85lbs. She was dumped at the San Jose shelter by her owners when they decided they didn’t want to provide her with medical care, with a chain around her neck, emaciated (skin n bones), with scabs and hives all over her body, and no pads on her feet (couldn’t walk without them bleeding). She has finally gained weight and overall looks and is healthy and beautiful now. But she does have environmental allergies causing the hives and skin problems. She is on daily allergy medication which seems to be keeping things in check though but it’s something that will need to be closely monitored. According to the allergy test results, she is highly allergic to wheats, grains, and grasses. This includes grasses outdoors, especially during peak allergy seasons. However, her diet will have to be monitored too as far as checking the ingredients in the food for grains. Her health will be a constant lifelong issue so whoever adopts her will need to be prepared to properly take care of her medically and make sure she stays healthy and comfortable and receives proper veterinary care.
Aside from her allergies, she is a FABULOUS dog, the best Rottie you will ever meet!! She gets along wonderfully with other dogs both large and small, very polite even when meeting strange dogs on leash, she doesn’t even react when other dogs are barking at her. She loves other people (gives constant kisses!), is fine with cats although sometimes wants to play with them, walks very well on leash and heels perfectly off leash too. She LOVES the beach and will even romp in the water. She is very smart and wanting to learn and is VERY food motivated (so easy to train). She knows sit and down already. She’s cratetrained and pretty housebroken (although needs a consistent routine). She is a very sensitive dog though so needs a softer hand but at the same time does need clear boundaries.
Anyone who loves the Rottie breed knows what a true gem this one is. Clover is an AMAZING dog, who needs an equally amazing and committed home.

Cece is a Gorgeous 25 lb Schipperke/Border Collie mix. She is full of love to give. She is energetic and a great size to cuddle with. She is a very happy girl who loves everyone she meets, and always has a big smile to greet you. Cece gets along with other dogs, cats, and people (although she may be a little to much for kids). She seems to have some border collie in her, which makes her very smart, excited, and focused. Cece crates very well without a peep during the day and during bedtime, and knows when it’s time to settle down. She is also great on leash, and stops to wait for you to catch up. When she is out of her crate, she is busy and smart. She learned basic commands (“sit”, “no”, “off”, “come here”) and her name easily, and is eager to learn plenty more especially if there are treats involved! She loves to keep busy, whether it is by playing fetch, learning tricks, chewing toys, going on walks/runs, or playing with other dogs. When she gets excited while playing with other dogs, she will sometimes bark and try to herd them, as border collies do.
If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, happy girl who will give you endless amounts of love and fun, then Cece is the spunky little girl for you!
Chuckie Cheese (aka Chuck) is a 4yo Pit Bull Terrier. He is great with other dogs and people. He LOVES car rides (prefers to ride shotgun) and he also loves the water (perfect beach/lake dog!). He prefers a home without cats because he gets too excited. Also best in a home with no young children since he is big/strong and when he gets excited he could easily knock over a small child just by not paying attention. He is housebroken and doesn’t chew or take human things, and he is soft with his toys, and loves frisbees! He walks ok on the leash, pulls a bit but doesn’t try to drag you down the block. Knows the word “walk” and gets super excited! He becomes very attached to his person and will be your most loyal companion/co-pilot! He is friendly meeting new people but does make a good guard dog at home. Potential adopters should have big dog/bully experience, or be prepare to take training classes with him just to keep him on the right track. Overall, he is just a SWEET, loving, and loyal dog who will rest his head on your lap. :)

Jack is a 2yo terrier/chi mix who we suspect used to be kept outside 24/7 (his beautiful dark chocolate fur was bleached blonde and crispy due to prolonged sun exposure, but his healthy fur is beginning to grow back nicely!) and was neglected and likely abused. He is learning to trust humans again and warms up much faster to women and children than to men. He loves other small dogs and is learning to be comfortable around bigger dogs too. He is far too interested in cats though so he needs a home with no cats. He is crate-trained and housebroken. He is a follower and a super snuggler and loves to give kisses. He is also great about getting groomed! If you want a loyal, loving companion, look no further!

Hopscotch is a very sweet and quiet 1yo girl. She’s a high energy 10lb shiba/chi mix. Gets along great with other dogs. Also goes by Hop, Hoppy, and Hopper. Her name definitely fits her, she can jump really high and loves to jump up into your arms. She is full of life and energy. Such an active and energetic dog, loves to have her yard/park time where she can run for as long as you let her. She has such a big heart. Energy aside, she will be the best cuddle buddy one could ask for. She is still in her puppy mode, so watch for any important materials, because she might think it’s a toy that she can chew up. She would be great in a home with other active pets or alone with an active owner who could run with her or take her on hikes. She is a very good listener and will come immediately as you call her. Since she is still learning, she will need some hands on training time so she knows not to steal shoes or socks and mistake them as toys. She is 100% housebroken and she is very smart and can learn things very quickly. She is such a fun dog and would love that person that can play and run with her as much as possible.

Dax is a 7yo purebred longhair standard Dachshund. Dax would be a good companion dog, he is a mellow guy who loves to just hang out with his people. He enjoys his short walks and walks at a slower pace- he does not pull. He has great leash manners and could eventually be an off leash pup as he doesn’t get far. Dax had to be shaved down as he was matted but when his hair grows back he will be so handsome! Dax is a bit overweight at the moment, he is working on slimming down with exercise and diet but he will need a family that is committed to continuing his weight loss until he reaches an ideal weight. Dax is a quiet, well-mannered, and very polite dog who gets along with other dogs, kids, people, and he doesn’t care about cats. He loves to be petted and will even give kisses, and is grateful for any attention.

Emma is a stunning 11 mo. German Shepherd/Border Collie mix. Emma is full grown at only 42lbs (nice medium sized dog), but is still very much a puppy in personality. She is highly Active and intelligent, but still has much to learn. She loves to cuddle her people, give out hugs, and adores belly rubs. She loves to be brushed forever she will role over if you stop. She is Crate trained but still needs to learn basic training (leash work and obedience skills) due to the neglect in her early life. She is a bit shy at first with new dogs, but once given time to get to know them she becomes their best friend (very playful). Like many herding dogs Emma is mouthy and has the tendency to be nippy if startled. (So she needs an adult-only household!) She is overly interested in cats and will chase so would be best in a home without cats. Emma could easily make a wonderful hiking, sports dog partner. She is the sweetest little girl searching for a human who will love her as unconditionally as she loves them. If you are looking for a loving, active, and intelligent Companion look no further!
Pepe is a Wonderful 1 yo. 14 lb Papillon mix. He is a happy boy who’s only desire is to be loved! He is a total cuddle buddy with tons of love to give. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows stand, sit and down. He loves People but does not have the patience for children. (no kids) He is good with both dogs and cats and he tends to be extremely playful with other pets. He is intelligent and with the right motivation he could learn so much! He loves to play, but he also loves to just curl up with his person. He is the sweetest little guy. Pepe is both active enough to take on hikes and low energy enough to just hang around the house when you want to just chill. He really is the best of both worlds. So if your looking for a gentle loving happy soul to be your companion look no further. Pepe is your man!

Tiffany is a 3yo Chihuahua/Pug mix that came to us after being overlooked in the shelter for too long. She is an energetic little dog and loves to play. She had a foot injury as a pup so her back foot is a little deformed but she is able to run, play, and go on long walks. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with them and with toys. She’d probably be fine with cats. She is a quiet girl who is housebroken and cratetrained. She lets you know when she wants affection and loves it when you give back. And she is extremely food motivated! Tiffany would be a great dog for a family with kids or for someone who wants a cuddle companion.
Lacy is such a super happy and lovable girl. She loves to cuddle and crawl into and under the sheets of a bed. Sh loves belly rubs and being held in someone’s arms. She makes an amazing lap dog. She gets really excited and spins around in circles when she’s happy. She’s great with other pets in the house. She does really well in car rides. She is so loving (it seems like she’s always smiling 
and she always wants to please her person. She really enjoys being outside. Even though she is 7 yo, she definitely doesn’t act like it, she acts so youthful and full of life. She deserves someone that will reciprocate all of the love that she has to offer.

TANK is a small but MIGHTY Chihuahua. There’s a whole lot of personality wrapped up in this sturdy little package! Weighing in at a solid 11 pounds, six-year-old Tank is a stocky force to be reckoned with. Some would call him stubborn and cantankerous, but we see him as independent and dauntless. He is his own dog. And while he can be belligerent with other (bigger) dogs, he has a softer side that includes kisses, cuddles, and pretty-please paws. Beds are nice, but Tank prefers to burrow under a pile of blankets at bedtime. He’s not too keen on exercise, but he loves car rides. He often snorts like a guinea pig and he’s great with kids. While Tank is tolerant of other small dogs, he would do best in a home as the only dog.

Roger is a 1 year old Australian Terrier, and this guy is ALL terrier!! (His personality is probably closest to that of a Jack Russell or Cairn terrier) He loves to play with other small dogs, is good with cats (although sometimes he wants to play with them if they run). He LOVES to play (can’t say this enough), and he has extremely high energy. He has begun Agility classes and would love to go to a home that can continue this with him, and keep him very active, both mentally and physically (this is so important for a dog like Roger). He’s like the energizer bunny, and he is one of the smartest dogs we have EVER met! He does also love to snuggle with his person and give kisses. He’s crate-trained and housebroken. His only issue (besides his extremely high energy level) is fear aggression toward strangers (will even bite if a stranger reaches their hands for/toward him). He does seem to warm up much faster to young women than to older people or men. This is why he’d do best in a home with NO children and with someone experienced with terrier or high energy, intelligent breeds (like herding dogs). Once you give this dog a chance, you will fall in love! He’s really such a cool dog, the life of the party!
Roger is neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped, and will come with a collar, harness, leash, and bag of food!

Macy is a gorgeous bull terrier mix, about 1.5 years old. She’s got a ton of fun, happiness, energy and enthusiasm packed into her compact 48-lb body. She is super affectionate, rubbing like a cat against the people she loves. She is also super smart! She knows sit, stay, down, off, wait, shake and twirl, and she happily uses her foster family’s treadmill when prompted (without a leash!). She also cuddles like a pro and is very generous with her affection. Macy loves all people and most dogs (though she has been snarky with a couple of working-type dogs when they’ve tried to herd her). Macy is young and and does requires daily exercise. She would do best in a home without cats or children. In general, Macy is a smart, loving dog with bundles of muscles and sweetness!

Wylie is an amazing and adorable 2 year old chihuahua mix. He is great with adults, children of all ages and other small dogs. He was born with an under developed lower jaw so his muzzle appears much pointier than your average pup. This doesn’t affect him in any way, and on the bright side, he looks like he always has a smile on his cute little face. Wylie loves to play in his yard and go for walks, but he loves to cuddle on his person’s lap more than anything else. He is a very loving and loyal little boy who wants nothing more than to find a wonderful new forever home.

Stevie is a sweet, playful handsome 2yo Bull Terrier mix that is in search of his forever home. Stevie is no ordinary pooch; he lives an amazing life and will need an amazing person to open their heart and home to his special needs. Stevie was born deaf and blind; yet, this has not stopped him from living a normal healthy dog’s life. Despite his disabilities, he absolutely loves people; belly rubs, going for walks (he walks really well on leash!), and naps and happily plays with other dogs. In addition, he will also need time and positive reassurance when he’s adjusting to his new forever home. He would prefer to go to a home where someone can be with him most of the time. He can see silhouettes and shadows of objects/people and may sometimes get scared. This is where his new parents will need to give him a soft pat on his head/back to ensure him he’s safe and everything is ok. Stevie would love a new comfortable home with another friendly medium to large pooch that can help guide and play with him. Happy is a two year old, eight-lb. female chihuahua/rat terrier mix. She is a very sweet, mellow and loyal girl. She’s a little sensitive because she’s had a tough life so far, and she really needs a home and family that is patient and gentle. Once she’s comfortable in her environment, she is a very happy little dog, and she loves to hike and play on the beach. She gets along well with other dogs, but she does let the pushy ones know when to back off. She completely ignores cats. Penny is a sweet little special needs puppy. She’s a eight month old terrier mix, weighing in at just six pounds. She was born with bad kneecaps and required surgery in order to walk properly. She’s fully recovered now, able to walk, run and play like any normal dog. Her new home will just have to make sure she doesn’t over-exert herself. Penny LOVES all other dogs, any size, and she loves to play. She’s on the shy side with people but she’s getting more social every day, and she loves to be held. She’s crate-trained and housebroken, and she’s learning basic training. Penny is still a puppy, but she has a very mild and calm disposition – quiet and well-mannered, but also a lot of fun when it’s playtime. It seems he wasn’t really taken out on the leash much before coming to rescue, he needs some encouragement to teach him it’s safe to walk on the ground. BeBe is a tan with white points (socks, face mask, chest), female Chihuahua who weighs about 6 pounds. She seems to be about 6 years old. BeBe just finished raising 7 healthy puppies in a foster home about one month ago. She has had all her medical needs met, including teeth cleaning and a few extractions. She ended up in the shelter because her previous owner died. BeBe was so sure a terrible mistake had been made, because this well-loved Chihuahua certainly did not belong in the shelter, that we had to bring her into rescue. Now she is just waiting to meet her new owner who will continue giving her the life of love and companionship she used to having.
Bebe has been used to focusing her attention on a one woman owner. She can easily transfer that to two people, but just needs a few days of slow introduction. Food is the best way to her heart. She knows the refrigerator is where all the good food is, and can’t wait for you to share it with her. So if the second person, especially if it is a man, feeds her treats a few times a day, she will warm right up. She is fine around all people e.g. in crowds etc., but only focuses her attention on the people she knows. Since she has only lived in an adult home, that would be the best type of home for her. Kids would probably be to noisy and fast for her.
Bebe is a great dog to have as a companion. It is so comforting to hear her paws padding after you wherever you go. She curls up wherever you are and is fine laying next to you on the couch. If you have some little beds out for her in your favorite locations, all the better. She is great on walks and stays out of your way. She lives with other dogs but just ignores them. All her attention is on her human. She is housebroken once she knows the new routine. And she’ll settle right in to being a calm, happy dogs after a few days of being anxious in a new household.
Bebe loves to run around the backyard and roll in the grass. Bebe has a great alarm bark but is otherwise quiet. If you have a warm lap to provide and are looking for a little dog to give you a lot of love, then BeBe may be your girl.

Daphne is a super cute 2 year old 6 pound chihuahua mix. She has beautiful black and tan markings, expressive little brown eyebrows, and one ear that wants to flop over while the other sticks straight up. Daphne is a very happy little girl, she loves playing and chasing squirrels with the other dogs in her foster home. She is also a cuddly little lap dog and adores having her belly scratched. She is fully housebroken and crate trained. If you are looking for cute, happy, and loving wrapped up together in one little dog, Daphne is the girl for you!

She is a very loving little girl who adores being held and cuddled, and will give soft kisses in return. Being so tiny and quiet, Bree would make a wonderful companion to go most anywhere with you. Khloe can be very playful with her special squeaky toys, adores her walks around the neighborhood, and loves to go for car rides. She is housebroken and sleeps quietly in her crate all night. Because she is so tiny and quiet, she would make a wonderful companion you could take almost anywhere. Fella is a 2yo cocker spaniel/dachshund mix. He was neglected for a year so isn’t as confident and outgoing as he used to be. Once he learns to trust his new person though, he will be their shadow. He seems to prefer women to men. He is a very sweet and gentle boy. He might be okay with older, respectful kids. He is great with other dogs. He is housebroken, and loves to go on walks and play. He is a quiet but rambunctious boy who will need consistency and stability in his new home.
